Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the flour, salt, and nutmeg (if using) to the mixture and whisk until fully combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish. The batter will appear runny, but that’s normal!
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the center is set and lightly golden on top. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Allow the pie to cool completely. The crust will form magically as it cools!
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
