Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped pickles (optional)
- Sliced green onions or fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a medium casserole dish.
- Cook bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving some bacon grease in the pan.
- Cook beef mixture: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant, then add ground beef. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Combine with bacon: Remove from heat. Stir the cooked bacon into the beef mixture (reserve a little for topping if you like).
- Prepare egg mixture: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, and cream cheese until smooth.
- Assemble casserole: Spread the beef and bacon mixture evenly in the casserole dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella on top. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
- Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the casserole is set and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Finish & serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes. Top with chopped pickles (if using), reserved bacon, green onions or parsley. Slice and serve warm!
Tip: Serve with a side salad or lettuce wraps for extra crunch — and keep it low-carb!
