Lemon Cream Cheese Dump Cake Recipe

This simple and satisfying dessert is made with just four ingredients: lemon pie filling, cream cheese, cake mix, and butter. It’s a “dump cake,” meaning you just layer the ingredients and bake – no mixing required! The result is a creamy, lemony, and slightly tangy cake with a buttery crust.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (21 ounce) can lemon pie filling
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened and cut into small cubes
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix (or lemon cake mix for extra lemon flavor)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer Lemon Filling: Pour the lemon pie filling into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  3. Add Cream Cheese: Distribute the cubes of softened cream cheese evenly over the lemon pie filling.
  4. Sprinkle Cake Mix: Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Drizzle Butter: Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer.
  6. Bake: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  7. Cool & Serve: Let the cake cool slightly before serving. You can serve it warm or cold. Top with whipped cream or powdered sugar, if desired.

Tips and Notes:

  • Cream Cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easier distribution.
  • Cake Mix: You can use other flavors of cake mix, such as white or vanilla, if you prefer.
  • Fruit Variations: You can use other fruit pie fillings, such as apple, cherry, or blueberry, for different flavors.
  • Nuts: Sprinkle chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, over the cake mix layer for added texture.
  • Whipped Cream: Top with fresh whipped cream or a dollop of Cool Whip for a finishing touch.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
