- 1 handful fresh lemon balm leaves (or 1 tbsp dried)
- 1–2 tsp green tea leaves or 1 tea bag (optional)
- 2 cups hot water
- 1–2 tsp honey or your favorite sweetener
- 1 tbsp basil seeds (sabja seeds)
- 1 cup cold water or ice cubes
- Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)
- Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Soak basil seeds in ½ cup water for about 10 minutes until they swell. Set aside.
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then turn off the heat.
- Add lemon balm leaves (and green tea if using). Cover and steep for 5–7 minutes.
- Strain the tea and mix in honey or sweetener while warm. Let it cool.
- Once cool, stir in the soaked basil seeds.
- Pour into a glass over ice or chilled water.
- Garnish with lemon slices or mint leaves if desired.
- Serve and enjoy this refreshing herbal cooler!
