layout for Homemade Creamy Garlic Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Slowly whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps.
  5. Cook and stir continuously until the sauce thickens (about 3–5 minutes).
  6. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve warm over pasta, chicken, veggies, or as a dipping sauce!
