Ingredients
- 8 slices of sandwich bread (crusts removed)
- 8 slices of deli ham
- 8 sticks or slices of mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp butter or oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Flatten the Bread:
Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread. - Assemble Rolls:
Place 1 slice of ham and 1 cheese stick on each piece of bread. Roll up tightly. - Prepare Coating:
In one bowl, mix eggs and milk. Place flour in a second bowl and breadcrumbs in a third. - Coat the Rolls:
Roll each bread stick in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. - Cook the Sticks:
Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the sticks until golden brown on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side. - Serve:
Let cool slightly and serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
