Ingredients

  • 8 slices of sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 8 slices of deli ham
  • 8 sticks or slices of mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Flatten the Bread:
    Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread.
  2. Assemble Rolls:
    Place 1 slice of ham and 1 cheese stick on each piece of bread. Roll up tightly.
  3. Prepare Coating:
    In one bowl, mix eggs and milk. Place flour in a second bowl and breadcrumbs in a third.
  4. Coat the Rolls:
    Roll each bread stick in flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Cook the Sticks:
    Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the sticks until golden brown on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  6. Serve:
    Let cool slightly and serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
