Located in West Warf, Karachi, Sindh, Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited KS&EW is a government-owned defense contractor and military business in Pakistan.
Shipbuilding, ship repair, and other heavy engineering services are all available at KSEW Limited, Pakistan’s first and oldest shipyard. It has supplied the Pakistan Navy with various vessels, including cargo ships, oil tankers, tug boats, support vessels, landing craft, ships, and submarines.
In addition to serving the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, the Karachi Port Trust, the Port Qasim Authority, and private clients in Pakistan, the company also constructs and repairs vessels. The Pakistani government, represented by the Ministry of Defense, owns 100% of the company’s stock.
The Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) launched the facility in the middle of the 1950s. In the years following, in 1957, the corporation officially became a public limited company run by a board of directors and a managing director.
Among its many amenities are a huge shipbuilding hall, three blocks’ worth of fabrication space, three shipbuilding berths, two dry docks, a machine shop, grit blasting equipment, a painting facility, a ship lift with a capacity of 7881 tons, a transfer system, and thirteen parking lots.
