Introduction to University:
Lahore, Pakistan is home to the university Kinnaird College for Women (KCW). Liberal arts education for women alone. In 1913, the Zenana Bible and Medical Mission established a community in the area now known as Kinnaird.
The Presbyterian Mission Church and the Church Mission Society came together to create and manage the institution in 1919. The institution relocated to its present location on Jail Road in 1926 and expanded there throughout the years, eventually filling an area of 20 acres (81,000 square meters) by 1939.
Lady Marie Jane Kinnaird, a famous philanthropist of her day and co-founder of the YWCA, is honored with a college bearing her name. In the early 20th century, the institution moved to its current location next to Kinnaird High School. The government granted the college university status in 2002, and administration was transferred to the Association of Kinnaird Universities.
