Kajmacin is a traditional Albanian baked milk custard. It’s a simple dessert with a creamy texture.
Ingredients:
- 7 eggs
- 7 tablespoons of sugar
- 700 ml of milk
Some recipes use slightly different ratios, such as 10 eggs, 10 spoons of sugar, and 1 liter of milk. Some recipes use only 3 ingredients.
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 260 degrees Celsius (approximately 500 degrees Fahrenheit). Some recipes suggest a lower temperature, around 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
- Gradually stir in the milk.
- Pour the mixture into an oven-safe dish.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until set and golden brown. Some recipes suggest a longer baking time, around 25 minutes.
