Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 ml) of milk
- 2-3 tbsp of cornstarch
- 3-4 tbsp of sugar (or sweetener of choice, to taste)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup of fresh fruit (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, mango, or your favorite fruit), diced
- Optional: a pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the milk base:
In a saucepan, combine the milk, cornstarch, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until the cornstarch dissolves completely and no lumps remain. - Cook the mixture:
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent lumps or sticking. Cook until it thickens into a smooth, pudding-like consistency. This should take about 3-5 minutes. - Add vanilla:
Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let it cool slightly for a few minutes. - Assemble the dessert:
In serving glasses or bowls, layer the milk mixture and diced fruit. Start with the milk base, add a layer of fruit, and repeat as desired. - Chill and serve:
Refrigerate the dessert for 30 minutes to cool completely or enjoy it slightly warm. Garnish with extra fruit on top if desired.
