The Pakistan Army’s officer training institution, the Pakistan Military Institution (PMA) was founded in 1947 in the town of Kakul. Close to the Pakistani city of Abbottabad in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lies the hamlet of Kakul. The PMA is comprised of 16 different companies and 4 training battalions. About 2,000 people from 34 different nations visit the facility annually.
