INGREDENT

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter or oil
  • Optional: 1 tsp garlic powder or chopped herbs (like parsley or chives)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese and any optional seasonings.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg, then mix in the milk and melted butter.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until golden on top and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Serve warm with butter, or enjoy as-is for a cheesy, savory breakfast treat!
