  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-style)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup marinara sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, milk, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until fully combined (avoid over-mixing).
  3. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it on the prepared baking sheet or in the loaf pan.
  4. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve with extra marinara sauce and garnish with fresh parsley. Enjoy!
