Italian Baked Panne Inspired Dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of Italian bread (or baguette)
  • 1 cup of marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp of dried basil
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of Italian bread into thick slices (about 1-inch each).
  3. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic.
  5. Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  6. Remove the bread from the oven and spread a generous amount of marinara sauce on top of each slice.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan on top of the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle oregano and basil over the cheese.
  9. Return the bread to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil leaves (optional) before serving.
  11. Serve hot as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
