Ingredients
- 1 loaf of Italian bread (or baguette)
- 1 cup of marinara sauce
- 1 ½ cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tbsp of dried oregano
- 1 tbsp of dried basil
- 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the loaf of Italian bread into thick slices (about 1-inch each).
- Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush each slice lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic.
- Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Remove the bread from the oven and spread a generous amount of marinara sauce on top of each slice.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan on top of the sauce.
- Sprinkle oregano and basil over the cheese.
- Return the bread to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves (optional) before serving.
- Serve hot as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
