Indian Fast-Growing Hair Oil Recipe

This hair oil combines traditional Indian ingredients known for promoting hair growth, strengthening hair follicles, and improving overall hair health. Regular use can lead to thicker, longer, and healthier hair.

Ingredients:

  • Carrier Oils:
    • 1/2 cup Coconut Oil (Strengthens hair, adds shine)  
    • 1/4 cup Sesame Oil (Promotes hair growth, darkens hair)
    • 1/4 cup Almond Oil (Nourishes scalp, adds shine and softness)  
  • Herbs and Spices:
    • 2 tablespoons Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) (Stimulates hair growth, reduces hair fall)  
    • 2 tablespoons Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta) (Prevents graying, strengthens hair)  
    • 1 tablespoon Amla Powder (Indian Gooseberry) (Rich in Vitamin C, strengthens hair follicles)  
    • 1 tablespoon Bhringraj Powder (Promotes hair growth, prevents premature graying)  
    • 1 tablespoon Hibiscus Flowers (Dried) (Stimulates hair growth, conditions hair)
    • 1 teaspoon Black cumin seeds (Kalonji) (Helps with hair loss)
  • Optional additions:
    • A few drops of Rosemary essential oil. (stimulates hair growth)
    • A few drops of Tea tree essential oil. (Antifungal, can help with dandruff)  

Instructions:

  1. Combine Carrier Oils: In a heavy-bottomed pan or double boiler, combine the coconut oil, sesame oil, and almond oil. Heat gently over low heat.
  2. Add Herbs and Spices: Add the fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, amla powder, bhringraj powder, hibiscus flowers, and black cumin seeds to the warm oil.
  3. Infuse the Oil: Heat the oil mixture on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The herbs and spices should release their beneficial properties into the oil. Do not allow the oil to boil.
  4. Cool and Strain: Remove the pan from heat and let the oil cool completely. Once cooled, strain the oil through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the herbs and spices.
  5. Add Essential Oils (Optional): If using essential oils, add them to the cooled, strained oil and mix well.
  6. Storage: Store the hair oil in a clean, airtight glass bottle in a cool, dark place.

How to Use:

  • Gently massage the warm oil into your scalp and hair for 5-10 minutes.
  • Leave the oil on for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight.
  • Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
  • Use 2-3 times a week for best results.
