Ingredients
- 2 medium red onions (or white onions)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (or castor oil for extra thickness)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for added moisture)
- A few drops of essential oil (like rosemary or tea tree – optional, to mask the onion smell)
Instructions
- Peel and Chop Onions:
Peel and roughly chop the onions into small chunks. - Extract Juice:
Blend the onion chunks or use a grater to extract the juice. Strain using a fine cloth or strainer to get pure onion juice. - Heat the Oils:
In a small pan, gently heat the coconut oil over low flame. Add the onion juice and stir well. - Infuse and Cool:
Simmer on low for 5–10 minutes, then turn off the heat. Let it cool and infuse. - Strain and Store:
Strain the oil again to remove any solid bits. Pour into a clean bottle or jar. - How to Use:
- Apply directly to the scalp, especially bald or thinning areas.
- Massage gently for 5–10 minutes.
- Leave on for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Wash out with a mild shampoo.
- Use 2–3 times a week for visible improvement.
Note: Consistency is key! Onion oil has sulfur and antioxidants that may stimulate hair follicles and boost growth naturally.
