Ingredients
- 1 package of plain tea biscuits (like Maria or Maizena biscuits)
- 2 cups cold milk (or substitute with a sweet liquor like rum or brandy)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup fresh fruit (like strawberries, peaches, or pineapple), chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Grated chocolate or shredded coconut for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cream: In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Taste and add sugar if you’d like it sweeter.
- Soak the biscuits: Pour the milk (or liquor) into a shallow dish. Dip each biscuit briefly to soak — don’t let them get too soggy.
- Layer the dessert: In a glass dish, start with a layer of soaked biscuits. Add a layer of the cream mixture. Scatter some chopped fruit over the cream. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cream on top.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Serve: Before serving, sprinkle grated chocolate or shredded coconut on top. Slice and enjoy — and watch it disappear in minutes!
