INGREDIENTS

  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp warm water

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–7 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add egg, melted butter, salt, and warm water. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead into a soft dough.
  4. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place in a greased baking pan and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  8. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and brush with butter for extra softness.
