Ingredients
- 1 large piece of fresh ginger root (about 2 inches), peeled and grated
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional, for extra anti-inflammatory power)
- 1–2 cups hot water (not boiling)
- A pinch of black pepper (helps activate turmeric)
- Optional: a dash of cayenne pepper or apple cider vinegar for a metabolism boost
Instructions
- Grate the ginger and place it into a mug or teapot.
- Add the lemon juice, raw honey, and turmeric (if using).
- Pour hot water over the mixture (let it cool slightly from boiling so you don’t destroy the nutrients).
- Stir well, add a pinch of black pepper and optional cayenne or apple cider vinegar if desired.
- Let it steep for about 5–10 minutes.
- Strain if you like, or sip it with the ginger bits for an extra kick.
- Drink this every morning on an empty stomach for best results.
