Ingredients
- 1 medium onion (yellow or red)
- 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger root
- 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional, for taste)
- 1 cup warm water
- Juice of 1/2 lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Peel the onion and ginger.
- Chop the onion into small pieces. Grate or finely chop the ginger.
- Place the onion and ginger in a blender. Add the warm water.
- Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to extract the juice.
- Add honey and lemon juice if desired, and stir well.
- Drink this mixture first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, 2–3 times per week.
- Store any leftover juice in an airtight jar in the refrigerator and use within 24 hours.
