Ingredients
- 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 ½ cups (360ml) warm water
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for brushing)
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast. - Add warm water:
Pour in the warm water and mix with a spoon or spatula until a sticky dough forms. No kneading required! - Let it rise:
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size. - Shape the dough:
Dust your hands with flour, and gently shape the dough into a round or oval loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet or pan. - Second rise (optional for fluffier bread):
Let it rest for another 20–30 minutes while the oven preheats. - Bake:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. - Cool:
Let cool slightly before slicing. Brush with olive oil for a soft, shiny crust if desired.
