INGREDENT
- 1 large red onion (or 2 small ones)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (cold-pressed)
- 2 tablespoons castor oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
- 5-7 curry leaves (optional, for added benefits)
- A few drops of essential oil (like rosemary or lavender, optional – to mask the onion smell)
Instructions
- Prepare the Onion:
Peel and chop the onion into small pieces. Blend or grate it to extract the juice. Use a strainer or cheesecloth to squeeze out the pure juice. You should get about 3–4 tablespoons of onion juice. - Heat the Oils:
In a small pan, add the coconut oil, castor oil, and olive oil. Heat on low flame for 1–2 minutes. Do not overheat. If you’re using curry leaves, add them now and let them sizzle. - Add Onion Juice:
Turn off the heat and allow the oil to cool slightly. Then slowly add the onion juice to the oil mixture and stir well. - Add Essential Oil (Optional):
Add a few drops of essential oil to mask the onion smell and for extra hair benefits. - Store:
Pour the oil into a clean glass bottle or jar. Shake well before each use. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 weeks.
How to Use:
- Take a small amount and massage it into your scalp using circular motions.
- Leave it on for at least 1 hour, or overnight for better results.
- Wash with a mild shampoo.
- Use 2–3 times a week consistently for best results.
