INGREDENT
- 1 large red onion
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (or castor oil for extra thickness)
- 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds (optional, for dandruff and added strength)
- 5-10 curry leaves (optional, for shine and strengthening)
- 1 teaspoon black seeds (kalonji – optional, for hair fall control)
Instructions
- Peel and Chop the Onion:
Finely chop or grate the onion to extract its juice and nutrients effectively. - Heat the Oil:
In a pan, pour the coconut oil and heat it on low flame. - Add Ingredients:
Add the chopped onion, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, and black seeds into the oil. Stir gently. - Simmer Slowly:
Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10–15 minutes until the onion turns slightly brown and the oil takes on a reddish tint. - Cool and Strain:
Turn off the flame and allow the oil to cool completely. Strain it using a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a clean, dry glass bottle. - Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place. The oil stays good for 2–3 weeks. - How to Use:
Massage the oil into your scalp and hair roots 2–3 times a week. Leave it on for at least 1 hour or overnight before washing with a mild shampoo.
