Ingredients
- 1 large piece of fresh ginger root (about 100–150 grams)
- 2 cups water
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, for sweetness)
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (optional, for flavor)
Instructions
- Wash the ginger thoroughly and peel it using a spoon or knife.
- Cut the ginger into small pieces or thin slices.
- Place the ginger pieces into a blender. Add the water.
- Blend until the ginger is finely ground and the mixture is well combined.
- Pour the blended mixture through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or jug to separate the juice from the pulp.
- Use the back of a spoon to press out as much juice as possible.
- Stir in honey or sugar if you’d like it sweeter, and add lemon juice for extra freshness.
- Pour into a glass or bottle. Serve chilled or over ice.
- Store any leftover ginger juice in the fridge for up to 3 days. Shake well before drinking.
