Ingredients
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for taste and extra soothing)
- 1 cup warm water
- ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the onion: Peel and finely chop the onion.
- Extract juice: Place the chopped onion in a clean cloth or sieve and press to extract the juice, or blend with a little warm water and strain.
- Combine: Mix the onion juice with warm water. Add honey and lemon juice if using. Stir well.
- Drink: Sip this mixture slowly, preferably once in the morning and once before bed.
- Repeat: Do this for 2–3 days to help loosen and expel mucus naturally.
Tip: Warm fluids, onion’s natural expectorant properties, and honey can help soothe the throat and clear phlegm gently.
