Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
- 1 tbsp ketchup (optional, for a richer glaze)
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (for thickening, optional)
- Chopped green onions or sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Ribs:
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper. - Cook the Ribs (Oven Method):
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Wrap the ribs in foil and bake for 2.5–3 hours until tender. Alternative: You can also boil the ribs for 45–60 minutes until tender, then glaze and broil. - Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup (if using), and chili flakes. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
Optional: Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened. - Glaze and Finish the Ribs:
Remove ribs from foil and place on a baking sheet. Brush generously with the honey garlic sauce.
Broil for 5–7 minutes until caramelized and sticky. Flip and repeat. - Serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
