Honey Garlic Ribs Recipe

These ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic glaze. Perfect for a family dinner or a weekend barbecue.

Ingredients:

  • For the Ribs:
    • 2-3 pounds pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
    • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Honey Garlic Glaze:
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 3 tablespoons of ketchup
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
    • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
    • 1 teaspoon of ginger, grated.
    • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of water (slurry)
    • Optional: sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ribs:
    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
    • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (if present). This helps the ribs become more tender.
    • In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
    • Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
    • Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  2. Bake the Ribs:
    • Cover the baking sheet tightly with aluminum foil.
    • Bake for 2-2.5 hours, or until the ribs are very tender.
  3. Prepare the Honey Garlic Glaze:
    • While the ribs are baking, prepare the glaze.
    • In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and grated ginger.
    • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
    • Add the cornstarch slurry, and stir constantly until the sauce has thickened.
    • Remove from heat.
  4. Glaze and Finish:
    • Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and discard the foil.
    • Brush the ribs generously with the honey garlic glaze.
    • Turn the oven broiler on.
    • Place the ribs back in the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and sticky. Watch closely to prevent burning.
    • Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
  5. Serve:
    • Cut the ribs into individual portions.
    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
    • Serve hot and enjoy!
