Honey garlic chicken bites

INGREDENT

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Toss in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
In the same pan, reduce heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds. Add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and chili flakes. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Combine:
Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Serve:
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice or steamed vegetables.
