INGREDENT
- 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional for heat)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
- 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Toss in cornstarch until evenly coated. - Cook the Chicken:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside. - Make the Sauce:
In the same pan, reduce heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds. Add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and chili flakes. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes. - Combine:
Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. - Serve:
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice or steamed vegetables.
