Homemade Vinegar and Baking Soda Soap recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup liquid Castile soap (unscented or your preferred scent)
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 10 drops essential oil (optional – lemon, tea tree, or lavender are great choices)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional for moisturizing)
  • Silicone soap molds or an ice cube tray

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, add the baking soda. If you’re adding coconut oil, melt it and mix it in.
  2. Add liquid soap: Slowly pour in the Castile soap and mix until a paste forms.
  3. Add vinegar carefully: The mixture will fizz slightly. Stir until it settles into a smooth, thick paste.
  4. Add essential oils (optional): Stir in your chosen essential oils for scent and added cleaning power.
  5. Mold and set: Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or ice cube trays. Press down firmly.
  6. Dry: Let them dry and harden at room temperature for 24–48 hours. You can also put them in the fridge to speed it up.
  7. Store and use: Store in an airtight container. Use as a scrub soap for sinks, tubs, or even hands after gardening!
