Homemade Vinegar and Baking Soda Soap

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup castile soap (unscented or scented of your choice)
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (optional, for added moisturizing)
  • 10–15 drops essential oil (like lavender, lemon, or tea tree) – optional
  • Silicone soap mold or muffin tin
  • Mixing bowl

Instructions

  1. Mix the Baking Soda:
In a large bowl, add the baking soda.
  2. Add Vinegar Slowly:
Slowly pour in the white vinegar. The mixture will fizz—this is normal. Stir gently until fizzing stops.
  3. Add Castile Soap:
Once the fizzing settles, add the castile soap to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Optional Additions:
Add coconut oil for moisture and essential oils for fragrance. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Mold the Soap:
Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or a lined muffin tin. Press firmly to compact it.
  6. Dry and Harden:
Let the soap sit in a cool, dry place for 24–48 hours to harden completely.
  7. Unmold and Use:
Once solid, pop the soaps out of the mold. Store in a dry container and use as needed for cleaning hands or surfaces.
