Ingredients
- 1 cup (approx. 250g) melt-and-pour glycerin soap base (clear or white)
- 1 tbsp baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- 2 tsp white distilled vinegar
- 10–15 drops of essential oil (optional – lemon, lavender, or tea tree work well)
- Silicone soap mold
Instructions
- 🥣 Melt the Soap Base:
- Cut the soap base into small chunks.
- Place in a microwave-safe bowl or use a double boiler.
- Heat until fully melted, stirring every 30 seconds if using the microwave.
- 🧂 Add Baking Soda:
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of baking soda thoroughly until no lumps remain.
- 🍋 Add Vinegar:
- Slowly add 2 teaspoons of white vinegar while stirring. It may fizz slightly—this is normal. Mix until smooth.
- 🌸 Add Essential Oils (Optional):
- Mix in 10–15 drops of your chosen essential oil for added fragrance and antibacterial properties.
- 🧊 Pour into Molds:
- Pour the mixture into silicone soap molds.
- Tap the molds gently to release air bubbles.
- ❄️ Let Set:
- Allow the soap to cool and harden at room temperature (about 1–2 hours) or refrigerate for faster setting.
- 🧼 Unmold and Use:
- Remove from molds and store in a dry, cool place.
- Use it to scrub sinks, tubs, or hands after heavy-duty cleaning.
📝 Notes:
- Avoid using metal bowls when mixing vinegar and baking soda.
- This soap is more for cleaning purposes than skincare, as baking soda and vinegar can be drying to the skin.
