Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Strawberries:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the strawberries and 1/2 cup of the sugar.
    • Mash the strawberries with a potato masher or a fork until they are mostly broken down.
  2. Combine the Cream Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Combine the Mixtures:
    • Pour the strawberry mixture into the cream mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Freeze in Ice Cream Maker:
    • Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Serve:
    • Once the ice cream is frozen, transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
