Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup mini pepperoni or chopped cooked sausage (optional)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
- Optional: Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 4-6 rectangles (or circles if using a cutter).
- Add filling: On one side of each piece, spread 1-2 tablespoons of pizza sauce, a generous sprinkle of mozzarella, and your favorite toppings like pepperoni or sausage.
- Fold and seal: Fold the dough over to cover the filling and press edges with a fork to seal.
- Egg wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pocket for a golden finish.
- Season and top: Brush with olive oil and sprinkle Italian seasoning on top. Add grated Parmesan or red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
- Cool slightly and serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
