DESCRIPTION:
This homemade creamy yogurt is smooth, rich, and naturally healthy. Made with just two simple ingredients, it’s fresh, preservative-free, and perfect for breakfast, snacks, or cooking. Once you try this easy method, you’ll never want store-bought yogurt again.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 liter whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt (with live live cultures)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Pour the milk into a pot and heat it until it comes to a gentle boil.
  2. Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the milk cool until it is warm (lukewarm, not hot).
  4. In a small bowl, mix the 2 tablespoons of yogurt with a little warm milk.
  5. Add this mixture back into the pot and stir gently.
  6. Cover the pot with a lid and wrap it in a towel.
  7. Keep it in a warm place for 6–10 hours or overnight to set.
  8. Once thickened, refrigerate for a few hours before serving.

TIPS:

  • Do not add yogurt when milk is too hot, it will kill the culture.
  • Keep the container warm for better thick and creamy texture.
  • Use full-fat milk for richer yogurt.
  • Avoid shaking the yogurt while it is setting.
