Homemade Creamy Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for richer sauce)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens, about 3–5 minutes.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese and continue cooking until melted and smooth.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve warm over pasta, chicken, vegetables, or as a dipping sauce.
