Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (or your favorite mix-ins like nuts or M&Ms)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or other mix-ins of your choice.
- Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy warm with a glass of milk!
