Homemade Chunky Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chunks (or chips)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (like pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • ½ cup crushed cookies (like Oreos or graham crackers)
  • Optional: ½ cup fruit pieces (strawberries, cherries, bananas), chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form using an electric mixer (about 3–4 minutes).
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture until smooth and fully combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Add in your “chunky” mix-ins—chocolate chunks, nuts, cookies, and/or fruit. Fold gently to evenly distribute.
  5. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container (like a loaf pan). Smooth the top and cover with plastic wrap or a lid.
  6. Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until firm.
  7. Scoop and enjoy your homemade chunky ice cream straight from the freezer!
