Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans. Dust them lightly with flour or cocoa powder.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat the mixture until smooth and well combined.
- Gradually stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this ensures a moist cake.
