Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (or cooking spray for baking)
Instructions
- Prepare the Coating Stations:
- In one bowl, place the flour.
- In a second bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.
- In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken piece in the flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Roll the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Cook the Nuggets:
- For frying: Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the nuggets in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- For baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the nuggets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- For air frying: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Cook the nuggets in a single layer for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve:
- Remove the nuggets from the oil or cooking surface and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
