Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 ½ cups cooked ham (diced or sliced)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.
  3. Add Filling:
Spread a small amount of Dijon mustard (if using) in the center of each square.
Add ham and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Season lightly with black pepper and oregano.
  4. Seal Pockets:
Fold each square diagonally to form a triangle or fold into a rectangle.
Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
  5. Egg Wash:
Beat the egg with milk and brush over the tops of the pastries for a golden finish.
Make a small slit on top of each pocket to allow steam to escape.
  6. Bake:
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Cool & Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
