Ingredients
- 2 medium-sized onions (red or white)
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (or olive oil, castor oil β your choice)
- 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds (optional β helps with dandruff and scalp health)
- 5-6 curry leaves (optional β promotes hair growth and shine)
Instructions
- Peel & Blend the Onions:
- Peel the onions, chop them into chunks, and blend them into a smooth paste. If you donβt have a blender, grate the onions instead.
- Extract Onion Juice:
- Strain the onion paste using a cheesecloth or a fine sieve to extract the juice. Set aside.
- Heat the Oil:
- In a saucepan, heat the coconut oil (or your preferred oil) on low flame.
- Infuse the Oil:
- Add fenugreek seeds and curry leaves to the warm oil. Let it sizzle for 30 seconds.
- Now, add the onion juice and stir gently.
- Simmer:
- Let the oil simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes until the onion smell fades and the oil turns golden.
- Be careful not to burn the mixture!
- Cool & Strain:
- Allow the oil to cool completely.
- Strain it through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove any bits.
- Store:
- Pour the oil into a clean, dry glass jar or bottle. Store in a cool, dark place.

- Leave it on for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper nourishment).
- Wash with a mild shampoo.
