Ground beef dinner recipe inspired by your mother-in-law’s meal

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups cooked rice or pasta (for serving)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add the garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Brown the beef until no longer pink.
  4. Drain excess fat if necessary, then add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
  5. Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and beef broth. Stir well.
  6. Add the frozen mixed vegetables and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
