Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts (or thighs, bone-in or boneless)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken
- Pat chicken dry with a paper towel.
- Rub olive oil over the chicken.
- Season
- Mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle seasoning evenly over the chicken.
- Preheat the Grill
- Heat grill to medium-high (about 375–400°F / 190–200°C).
- Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
- Grill the Chicken
- Place chicken on the grill.
- Cook 6–7 minutes per side for boneless, or 8–10 minutes for bone-in (until internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C).
- Add BBQ Sauce
- During the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush BBQ sauce over the chicken.
- Flip once and brush the other side, letting it caramelize slightly.
- Rest and Serve
- Remove chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
