LAHORE: During the summer break, the Punjab Industries Department and the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) will offer technical classes for free to kids from government schools.
The Departments of Industries, School Education, and Higher Education would work together to set up these classes in Bahawalpur, Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Sialkot, which are the nine divisions of Punjab.
Amanullah, a spokeswoman for TEVTA, said on Sunday that the students would not have to pay anything for these classes.

He said that these classes would cover a wide range of skills, such as home electricity, heating and ventilation, plumbing, air conditioning, sewing, refrigeration, computer applications, hairdressing, cooking, safety inspection, kitchen gardening, needlework, and offset printing.
He also said that TEVTA had developed a number of technical courses to create economic chances through business and job placements in both the local and foreign markets. These courses were meant to give young people more power and skills that were in demand.
