Ingredients
- 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2¾ cups (340g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups (350g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers look slightly underbaked for extra gooeyness.
- If desired, sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt as soon as they come out of the oven.
- Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Enjoy warm and gooey!
