Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2¾ cups (340g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups (350g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers look slightly underbaked for extra gooeyness.
  9. If desired, sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt as soon as they come out of the oven.
  10. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Enjoy warm and gooey!
