Ingredients:
- 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
- 3 medium apples (thinly sliced)
- 1/4 cup sugar (white or brown)
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Icing sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix apple slices, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, cornflour, and vanilla. Toss well.
- Roll out puff pastry and place one sheet on the baking tray.
- Spread apple mixture evenly, leaving 1-inch border.
- Cover with second puff pastry sheet and seal edges gently.
- Brush top with egg mixed with milk.
- Make small cuts on top for steam to escape.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving (optional).

- Use Granny Smith or Fuji apples for best flavor.
- Chill pastry for 10 minutes before baking for extra crispiness.
- Add chopped nuts or raisins for extra texture.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or custard.
- Store leftovers in an airtight box for up to 2 days.
