Golden Crispy Potato Bites are a delightful snack that combines the satisfying crunch of fried potatoes with the soft, fluffy interior of mashed goodness. These bites are perfect for parties, family gatherings, or evening snacks. Whether baked or fried, they deliver irresistible flavor and texture. Made with simple ingredients, they are easy to prepare and can be served with ketchup, garlic mayo, or cheese dip for extra taste.
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional for extra flavor)
- 2 tablespoons cornflour or all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika or chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or crushed garlic
- Bread crumbs as needed for coating
- Oil for frying or brushing if baking
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes until soft, peel them, and mash them thoroughly in a mixing bowl until smooth with no lumps.
- Add grated cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, flour, and chopped herbs. Mix everything well to form a soft but firm dough-like mixture that holds its shape.
- Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls or cubes and coat them evenly in bread crumbs for extra crispiness.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium flame and fry the potato bites in batches until they turn golden and crispy on all sides. If baking, preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F), place the coated bites on a greased tray, brush them with oil, and bake for 15–20 minutes or until crisp.
- Remove and place them on tissue paper to absorb extra oil. Serve hot with your favorite dip or sauce
