Glazed Apple Slab Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)
  • 6 cups apples (peeled, cored, thinly sliced – Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp butter (cut into small pieces)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (more if needed)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 10×15-inch baking pan.
  2. Roll out one pie crust and press it into the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
  3. In a large bowl, toss together sliced apples, sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top. Seal edges and cut small slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
  7. Let the pie cool slightly.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle glaze over warm pie.
  9. Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.

Would you like me to also add a serving suggestion (like pairing with ice cream or whipped cream) to make it more appealing?
