Ingredients
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)
- 6 cups apples (peeled, cored, thinly sliced – Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp butter (cut into small pieces)
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (more if needed)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 10×15-inch baking pan.
- Roll out one pie crust and press it into the bottom and up the sides of the pan.
- In a large bowl, toss together sliced apples, sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Dot with butter.
- Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top. Seal edges and cut small slits for steam to escape.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Let the pie cool slightly.
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle glaze over warm pie.
- Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
Would you like me to also add a serving suggestion (like pairing with ice cream or whipped cream) to make it more appealing?
