For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the eggs, melted butter, sour cream, and vanilla extract.
- Mix the batter: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and nuts (if using).
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Prepare the glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Glaze & Serve: Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread, slice, and enjoy!
