Ginger Lemon Water Recipe

This zesty drink combines the metabolism-boosting properties of ginger with the detoxifying benefits of lemon.  

Ingredients:

  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of water
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon  
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Combine: In a saucepan, combine the sliced ginger and water.
  2. Simmer: Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the ginger flavor is infused in the water.
  3. Cool: Let the mixture cool slightly.
  4. Strain: Strain the ginger water into a mug.
  5. Add lemon: Stir in the lemon juice and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Sweeten (optional): Add a teaspoon of honey to taste, if desired.
